# sonner breaking changes

Every breaking API change we have recorded in sonner on npm: 5 breaking changes in 3 versions. Below are its newest 3 versions, removals and renames first, each with its source.

Newest change February 18, 2025

## 2.0.0

2 breaking changes, first published February 18, 2025.

- **Removed** `ToasterProps.loadingIcon`

Use icons instead. [npmjs.com](https://www.npmjs.com/package/sonner/v/2.0.0)
- **Removed** `ToasterProps.pauseWhenPageIsHidden`

ToasterProps.pauseWhenPageIsHidden was removed in sonner 2.0.0 [npmjs.com](https://www.npmjs.com/package/sonner/v/2.0.0)

## 2.0.0-beta.3

2 breaking changes, first published February 18, 2025.

- **Removed**

The beta removed props that were previously deprecated. The notes do not name them, so check your code for deprecated toast props before upgrading. [github.com](https://github.com/emilkowalski/sonner/releases/tag/v2.0.0-beta.3)
- **Behavior changed**

Toasts with the loading type no longer show a close button. Code that expects it on loading toasts will see a change. [github.com](https://github.com/emilkowalski/sonner/releases/tag/v2.0.0-beta.3)

## 2.0.0-beta.2

1 breaking change, first published February 18, 2025.

- **Behavior changed**

The beta changed how long toasts stay visible. The notes do not give details, so check any code that depends on the timing. [github.com](https://github.com/emilkowalski/sonner/releases/tag/v2.0.0-beta.2)

## Check your code

These are the changes. To see which of them reach your code, [scan a public repository](https://since.dev/scan.md), or have your coding agent call `check_code` with your manifest or lockfile over [MCP](https://since.dev/docs.md#mcp). [The API](https://since.dev/docs.md#api) reads every change in every version, not only the newest. On Team and up, a fix pull request opens for the changes that reach a connected repository. Nothing merges or deploys.

## Put your code on continuous management.

Scan a public repository now, or give your agent one line.
